In February of this year I journeyed to Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, China. It was a beautiful journey to the birth place of Kung Fu – traditional Chinese martial arts. As a martial artist it was a journey full of spirit and wonder. I am blessed to have done it with brothers and sisters from our school, under the guidance of our Sifu (teacher).
This exhibition is a walk through the rebuilt Shaolin temple and surrounding areas. Although it is largely for tourist the temple holds an auspicious place in the martial arts world. I hope that the beauty and majesty that we found comes through the exhibition. All photographs were taken on my 35mm Olympus camera, they have been cropped but otherwise remain unchanged from the original scans; Shaolin Raw.
