Lungelwa, a short film produced by Quizzical Pictures and written by myself and directed by Nthabiseng Mokoene for the National Film and Video Foundation Female Filmmakers Project 2013 will premier this year at the Durban International Film Festival.
Lungelwa sees a young widow leave her home in the Eastern Cape and travel to Rustenburg to claim her husband’s body, in the aftermath of the police shootings at a local platinum mine. She deals with her grief while discovering her husbands true situation fighting for the pensions she believes is her right.
The film screens at the Bay of Plenty on the 18th of July at 19H30.
